    Essential Information

An exciting addition to the traditional EBC route, the Cho La Pass and Everest Base Camp trek combines the famed Everest Base Camp with the splendor of the Gokyo Valley. This climb offers amazing views of Everest (8,848m), Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu while traversing high mountain passes, glaciers, and isolated Sherpa communities. Along the journey, trekkers not only take in the splendor of the Himalayas but also become fully immersed in the rich Sherpa customs and culture.

    Crossing of Cho La Pass

Cho La Pass, which is 5,420 meters (17,782 feet) above sea level, is one of the trek's most difficult parts. The route requires attention due to its steep climbs, rocky terrain, and even freezing weather. Although the crossing might be physically taxing, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking views of massive glaciers and snow-capped peaks upon reaching the summit. To enjoy this challenging stretch safely, you'll need the right equipment, adequate acclimatization, and a respectable degree of fitness.

    Highlights and Experiences

Trekkers may take in the breathtaking views of the Himalayas from Gokyo Ri (5,357m), the turquoise Gokyo Lakes, and the once-in-a-lifetime experience of arriving at Everest Base Camp (5,364m). Climbing Kala Patthar (5,545m), which provides one of the best up-close sunrise views of Mount Everest, is another highlight. In addition to being a physical challenge, the hike offers insights into the Sherpa way of life, Buddhist monasteries, and the friendly hospitality of mountain settlements.
