It lies in northern part and the western part of the district is Nepal’s largest National Park Shey-Phoksundo. Being remote area, the western part is also an underdeveloped and quite poor. Permits are expensive, and you cannot trek in Upper Dolpo independently. Upper Dolpo Trekking goes from Juphal after a short flight from Nepalgunj. Due to heavy snowfall most of time it remains restricted. For this trekking it needs perfect seasons like autumn.
