The Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan known as the peaceful Dragon country is slowly emerging from centuries of self imposed isolation, this makes Bhutan a truly unique destination to explore its hidden treasure of ancient culture, religion, architecture and its way of life as it was for centuries, so Bhutans past is still its present and tantric Buddhism is a way of life.
Here in the Land of the Thunder Dragon, quality of life is measured in terms of Gross National Happiness, rather than purely material measures - though Bhutanese live comfortable, serene lives. Until quite recently this tiny country remained in splendid isolation, dedicated to preserving its deep Buddhist traditions and pristine landscapes. Now, a small number of guests each year are invited to discover Bhutans natural and cultural wonders. On this Dragon festival tour, you will attend two colorful festivals on both the spring and autumn trips. The spring trip visits Talo festival, a small festival held on a hilltop village above Punakha, and an elaborate Tsechu festival in Paro, one of the largest in the country. Similarly, the autumn trip attends large Thimphu Tsechu festival in the capital of Bhutan, along with small rural festival in Bhumthang valley.
